Domain Name
To have a web site, you need a domain name to be its address.
You now have three options.
a Search for a domain name to register or transfer
b Enter a domain name you will be maintaining with another provider
We call these Domain References
So if you have a domain registered elsewhere that you wish to use with your web hosting and aren't ready to transfer it just yet, creating a reference solves the problem.
You can always transfer your domain later.
